# RelayMCP

> RelayMCP is an AI assistant for your own WhatsApp, with privacy you control, delivered as an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI tools can set reminders, follow up, find what someone said, summarise chats, read voice notes and media, and draft replies that you approve, but only within the privacy limits you set. It is not a broadcast, marketing or bulk-messaging tool. Made in Mumbai, India. Status: private pilot, waitlist open, not generally available.

Privacy safeguards (the main focus):

- Locked with your key (pilot feature): Your stored WhatsApp messages and media are encrypted with a key that only you hold. RelayMCP saves just a locked copy of your key, protected by your secret passphrase, which we never store. Without your passphrase, the messages on our servers (including backups) can't be read by anyone, including us. New messages are encrypted the moment they're saved, even when you're not connected. Messages are deleted automatically after 72 hours (adjustable), and chats you block are never stored at all. If you lose your passphrase, your stored messages can't be recovered: you reset and re-link WhatsApp. What this doesn't cover: like any WhatsApp linked device, the connected RelayMCP service handles messages as they arrive and sends messages for you, and while it's running it holds your key in memory to send scheduled messages. Who you message and when (metadata) isn't covered by this encryption. This protects stored data; it isn't WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption.
- Block any chat or group. Its messages are dropped the moment they arrive: never stored, never shown to the AI, and media is never downloaded. Blocking also wipes anything already stored for that chat.
- Only you can unblock. Unblocking needs a code that's shown only on your own RelayMCP dashboard; the AI never sees it.
- Short memory, not an archive. Messages are deleted automatically after 72 hours (adjustable), and old chat history is not downloaded when you link.
- Encrypted. Message text is encrypted at rest. Data will be stored in encrypted storage on AWS in Mumbai, India. Logs never contain message text.
- Delete anytime. Unlink your device and all your data is wiped.
- How blocking works: WhatsApp still delivers messages to every linked device, including RelayMCP, and RelayMCP drops messages from blocked chats immediately.

Features: reminders, follow-ups, finding what someone said, chat summaries, drafting and sending replies to your contacts (with your approval), voice-note transcription (Hindi and English) and media reading.

Anti-spam safeguards: you approve sends; a natural random delay of 30–120 seconds (never instant); one person per message; no groups or broadcast lists; only your contacts or existing chats; quiet hours from 9 PM to 9 AM recipient-local; a daily cap of about 30 unique recipients; the same text to at most 3 people. Misuse gets the account paused or banned.

- Connection: links as a companion device through WhatsApp's multi-device (Linked devices) feature. Works with MCP clients that support remote MCP servers.
- Pricing: free during the pilot. Planned (indicative, INR, excluding 18% GST, may change): Personal ₹499/month, Pro ₹1,499/month, with a 14-day free trial and monthly billing; cancel anytime before renewal.
- Independence: RelayMCP is an independent app, not affiliated with or endorsed by WhatsApp or Meta. WhatsApp's terms on unofficial clients apply to users' accounts.
